After more than ten weeks of uncertainty and hope, a tragic conclusion has been reached in the case of the missing Minnesota mother, Madeline Kingsbury, per StarTribune.

The search for Kingsbury came to a devastating end on Wednesday when a body was found south of Winona by a deputy.

The body's identity has been confirmed by medical examiners, providing closure to the mystery surrounding Kingsbury's disappearance.

"While the discovery was not what we were hoping for, we are thankful to be able to bring Maddi home to her family," Winona Police Chief Tom Williams expressed the somber sentiment in a news conference on Thursday.

Remains of Missing Minnesota Mother Madeline Kingsbury Found

The body of the missing Minnesota mother, Madeline Kingsbury, was discovered along Highway 43 in Fillmore County on Wednesday, CNN reported.

Authorities confirmed that the 26-year-old's body was found in the undergrowth on a property not owned by her ex-boyfriend, Adam Fravel, or his relatives.

Winona Police Chief Tom Williams acknowledged the difficult and distressing 69-day search during a news conference on Thursday, expressing the frustration, heartache, and pain experienced by the family, law enforcement, and the community.

Kingsbury was reported missing on March 31 after failing to show up for work, ignoring calls from loved ones, and neglecting to pick up her children from daycare. Authorities considered her absence involuntary and suspicious, raising concerns for her safety.

Fravel has vehemently denied any involvement in Kingsbury's disappearance. Following her vanishing, her children were placed under the custody of the Winona County Health and Human Services Department.

A judge later determined that the children, aged 5 and 2 at the time, could not be returned to their father and would remain in county custody.

Fravel did not have custody of the children before Kingsbury vanished, according to court documents.
