Cleveland Browns fans were left concerned during Monday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers as star running back Nick Chubb had to be carted off the field during the second quarter.

The Browns ultimately suffered a 26-22 loss, according to ESPN.

The incident occurred following a 5-yard run by Chubb to the Steelers' 3-yard line. During a tackle, Chubb's legs twisted awkwardly beneath him, prompting immediate worries about his well-being.

Regrettably, Chubb was ruled out for the remainder of the game, and sources indicated that the Browns fear he may have sustained a significant knee injury.

Notably, Pittsburgh's All-Pro safety, Minkah Fitzpatrick, who tackled Chubb, also experienced an injury during the same play. However, Fitzpatrick did return to the field later in the game.

Until his injury, Chubb had already rushed for an impressive 64 yards on 10 carries. Jerome Ford stepped in to replace him and made an immediate impact by catching a touchdown on the very next play.

Unfortunately, Chubb's recent injury is concerning, especially given that it is the same knee he had reconstructed after a severe injury during his college days at Georgia in 2015.

RB Jerome Ford Shines as Nick Chubb Exits

Despite the somber mood following Nick Chubb's injury, second-year running back Jerome Ford emerged as a bright spot for the Cleveland Browns during their Monday Night Football clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

During the game, Ford rushed for an impressive 106 yards on 16 carries. Notably, he had a spectacular 69-yard burst that helped set up a touchdown in the third quarter, said Bleacher Report.

Ford's performance earned him praise from fans online, even though the team could not secure a victory. The Browns have a capable ball-carrier in Ford, who had only accumulated 48 career rushing yards before Monday's game.

As the Browns assess the extent of Chubb's absence, they can take solace in knowing they have a promising talent in Jerome Ford.

Fans can expect to see more of his skills when Cleveland faces the Tennessee Titans in Week 3.

Steelers' Minkah Fitzpatrick Who Tackled Nick Chubb Before Injury Leaves Game, Too

Fitzpatrick appeared to suffer a lower-body injury while tackling Chubb. Although he initially left the game, no immediate injury diagnosis was provided.

Fitzpatrick was observed on the sidelines and did not receive an injury designation from the Steelers, CBS Sports noted.

Fitzpatrick had already significantly impacted the game with a pivotal play early on when he tipped a pass by Deshaun Watson, leading to an interception returned for a touchdown by Alex Highsmith.

Despite his earlier departure, Fitzpatrick returned to the game and made a crucial stop, preventing Jerome Ford from scoring a 70-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Unfortunately, Fitzpatrick exited the game again in the third quarter due to a chest injury.
