The autopsy report on the death of New England Patriots fan Dale Mooney after a fight at Sunday night's game at Gillette Stadium has been released, and it may shed light on what happened during that tragic incident where he fought a fan of the opposing team, the Miami Dolphins.

While many suspect that the injuries Mooney sustained during the brawl resulted in his death, the autopsy said otherwise, as the New England Patriots fan may have died as a "medical issue" and not from a "traumatic injury," as many believe.

Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey issued a statement on Wednesday regarding the preliminary autopsy results. He noted that it "did identify a medical issue" that led to Dale Mooney's death.

"Our investigation has included numerous law enforcement interviews and the examination of multiple angles of video capturing the scuffle prior to Mr. Dale Mooney's collapse," said the DA, "Preliminary autopsy results did not suggest traumatic injury, but did identify a medical issue. Cause and manner of death remain undetermined pending further testing."

For now, the investigation remains "open and ongoing," said Morrissey in a statement. The Norfolk County District Attorney's Office is now asking any eyewitnesses who haven't been interviewed by police or those in possession of an original video of the incident to come forward and contact authorities, according to ESPN.

Charges Are Likely in Connection to Patriots Fan Dale Mooney's Death

While no charges have been filed yet, and no arrests have been made for the death of 53-year-old Patriots fan Dale Mooney last Sunday, investigators are saying that the Miami Dolphins fans he was fighting may face charges soon. Right now, authorities are still investigating.

According to Yahoo! News, investigators are still examining cell phone video of the incident and looking at it from multiple angles.

As to why nobody has been charged yet, Boston lawyer and legal expert Peter Elikann stated that it is still early in the investigation and added that "too many questions up in the air."
