The search for seven Mexico kidnapped teens in the north-central Mexican state of Zacatecas took a tragic turn on Wednesday.

Search teams discovered six lifeless bodies and one survivor in a remote area, AP reports.

According to state prosecutors, the surviving young man was found with severe head injuries, but his condition is stable.

While the bodies of six young men were located nearby, authorities have not yet confirmed if they are the same youths who were abducted from a farm on Sunday.

Local media reports had initially indicated that armed individuals abducted seven young men, aged 14 to 18, from their homes in Villanueva on September 24, according to Reuters.

Zacatecas is known for high levels of violence, with rival criminal groups frequently clashing over profitable smuggling routes.

To identify the bodies, they will need to be transported from the remote location to the state capital.

The relatives of the victims had been protesting earlier in the week, demanding that the authorities locate their loved ones.

This distressing incident is sadly not isolated. Throughout this year, there have been several instances of mass abductions involving young people in Mexico.

Authorities Urge Vigilance Following the Discovery of Mexico Kidnapped Teens

In response to this latest development, local authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, per BNN.

Collective efforts are essential to enhance security in the region, given the mounting security concerns in Central Mexico.

This tragic incident underscores the immediate need for strengthened security measures and an improved legal framework.

It serves as a stark reminder of the potential threats facing the region and the urgency to address them effectively.

Now, the authorities face the challenging task of unraveling the circumstances surrounding this horrifying incident.

The investigation aims to determine the cause of the deaths and identify the individuals or groups responsible.

The survivor's account is expected to be crucial in shedding light on the incident and potentially leading investigators to those responsible for this tragedy.

Several Mass Abduction Has Been Recorded in Mexico This Year

Sadly, this recent incident is part of a series of mass abductions that have occurred in Mexico this year, The San Diego Union-Tribune noted.

A disturbing video circulated on social media in August, capturing the final moments of five Mexico kidnapped teens in the neighboring state of Jalisco.

The video depicted bound, lifeless bodies and a youth who seemed to be responsible for the gruesome act.

Tragically, in Mexico's history, drug cartels have, at times, compelled kidnap victims to turn against each other, such as the case in 2010 when a cartel abducted individuals from passenger buses and forced them to fight to the death using sledgehammers.

In Jalisco, Mexico, up to eight young workers lost their lives in May after attempting to quit their jobs at a call center operated by a violent drug cartel involved in a real estate scam which had targeted Americans.
