Pressure is mounting on President Joe Biden re-election bid as Muslim Americans, dissatisfied with his approach to the Israel-Gaza war, unite under the banner of #AbandonBiden, per FOX News.

Muslim leaders from various swing states, including Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, Nevada, and Pennsylvania, gathered in Dearborn, Michigan, on Saturday to coordinate a national response.

The campaign, spearheaded by Arab and Muslim leaders, criticizes Biden's failure to call for a cease-fire amid the rising death toll in the Israel-Hamas conflict.

According to the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza, the death toll has reached 15,200 Palestinians, with 1,200 Israelis killed, primarily during the Oct. 7 attack that triggered the war.

The cease-fire between Israel and Hamas concluded after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) accused Hamas of firing at Israel. Hamas contends that Israel rejected an offer to release more hostages.

Jaylani Hussein, one of the organizers based in Minneapolis, expressed that Biden's reluctance to call for a cease-fire has irreparably damaged his relationship with the American Muslim community.

The #AbandonBiden campaign voices the concerns of Muslim Americans witnessing the tragic consequences of the conflict.

Effects of Muslim Americans on Joe Biden's Re-Election

The impact of the #AbandonBiden campaign on Joe Biden re-election prospects remains uncertain.

However, it underscores the growing political pressure faced by the President amid the ongoing Middle East conflict, according to POLITICO.

Arab and Muslim leaders have been urging Joe Biden to advocate for a cease-fire for nearly two months, and this new coalition intensifies that pressure.

The discontent among Arab and Muslim Americans poses a potential threat to Joe Biden's chances of re-election, especially in swing states that host significant Arab American and Muslim American voting blocs.

With over 15,000 casualties in Gaza, the anger among this demographic may influence the political landscape.

The Muslim American population, numbering around 3.45 million, wields significant voting power.

Jaylani Hussein emphasized their ability to impact the nation through both financial contributions and votes.

The Joe Biden re-election campaign has yet to respond to these developments.

In 2020, approximately 59 percent of Arab Americans supported Biden, but recent polls indicate a decline in this support.

The #AbandonBiden campaign raises questions about how this dissatisfaction might shape the political landscape in crucial swing states.

Donald Trump Can't Celebrate Yet

Despite expressing dissatisfaction with Joe Biden, Muslim Americans clarified that this does not translate into support for former President Donald Trump.

Moreover, Muslim Americans express skepticism, stating they do not anticipate better treatment from former President Donald Trump if he were to be re-elected, Al Jazeera noted.

The community sees withholding votes from Biden to influence U.S. policy rather than an endorsement of Trump.

While it remains to be seen if Muslim voters will collectively turn against Biden, even marginal shifts in support could impact states where Biden secured narrow victories in 2020.

Recent surveys indicate a significant decline in Joe Biden's backing among Arab Americans, potentially affecting states like Michigan, where Arab Americans constitute 5 percent of the vote.
