Another day, another mass shooting in the United States; this time, it happened at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV), with multiple victims being reported. The gunman has also been reported to have been killed.

Police responded to an active shooter on Wednesday at the University's Frank and Estella Beam Hall, which is the college's business school. There are at least three victims reported, though it is unknown what the extent of their injuries actually are.

"No more threat to the community. The suspect is deceased. Right now, we know there are 3 victims, but unknown extent of the injuries. That number could change. We will update you when we know more," said Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill to reporters.

University of Nevada, Las Vegas's official X page told people in the vicinity to "RUN-HIDE-FIGHT," and that police have responded to additional reports of shots fired in the student union on campus.

A local source told Fox News that FBI agents were seen assisting local law enforcement and that UNLV will now be closed for the remainder of Thursday.

"We are responding to preliminary reports of an #ActiveShooter on the campus of UNLV near BEAM Hall. There appears to be multiple victims at this time. Please avoid the area and we will have more information soon," said Las Vegas police.

As for the victims, while Sheriff McMahill did not mention what their respective conditions really are, he did confirm that they have been transported to a local hospital. He also told reporters that, for now, the shooter's motives for this latest mass shooting attack are still unclear.

According to CNN, all three victims who were shot were transported to the Sunrise Hospital Trauma Center after the University of Nevada-Las Vegas shooting, with a spokesperson for the hospital confirming it to the outlet.

"This afternoon, Sunrise Hospital Trauma Center has received a patient from the UNLV campus active shooter incident," said Marissa Mussi, Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center's spokesperson. "Our hearts go out to the UNLV community, their families, and everyone impacted by this tragedy."

Many of the students at UNLV are local Las Vegas residents and still remember what the city went through during the aftermath of the 2017 mass shooting, considered one of the deadliest mass shootings in US history.

A local reporter told CNN, "It's a scary, unfortunate situation, and I'm sure a lot of them are worried maybe their classmates or friends are among the victims. "It's unfortunate our community has to go through this again."

University of Nevada-Las Vegas Cancels UNLV Vs. Dayton Basketball Game After Shooting

The UNLV basketball team has a road game in Dayton, Ohio when this latest Las Vegas shooting happened. Now, Dayton is showing solidarity with their basketball opponents and canceled the game, according to ABC News.

"Further information will be released when available," posted the college's X account. We ask that our fans keep the UNLV community in their thoughts and prayers."
