In a grim turn of events, six individuals now face charges in connection with the untimely death of 16-year-old Preston Lord, who fell victim to a Halloween party attack in Arizona last year.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced the indictments on Wednesday.

Charged with felony first-degree murder and kidnapping following the Arizona teen beating death are Dominic Turner, 20; Taylor Sherman, 19; William Hines, 18; and 17-year-olds Talan Renner, Jacob Meisner, and Talyn Vigil, according to Fox News.

These charges mark the beginning of legal proceedings, as emphasized by Queen Creek Police Chief Randy Brice during a news conference.

Initial appearance hearings for Hines, Sherman, and Turner took place in Maricopa County Superior Court.

Meanwhile, Meisner, Renner, and Vigil faced charges in juvenile court but were treated as adults.

Vigil was ordered into adult jail, Meisner was sent to a juvenile detention center where he had already faced other charges, and Renner was sent to juvenile detention.

The charges against all six include first-degree murder and kidnapping of the Arizona teen, with Turner and Meisner also grappling with aggravated robbery accusations.

On Thursday, Mitchell's office expanded the scope of charges, indicting Sherman and Meisner.

Both now face first-degree murder charges, along with various other accusations.

Hines, already detained for unrelated assault cases, adds a layer of complexity to the legal proceedings.

The three juvenile defendants, Meisner, Renner, and Vigil, are being treated as adults in the eyes of the law, according to Mitchell's office.
