Lady Gaga, aka Mother Monster, performed in front of a huge crowd in Quebec City on Friday and wanted to show the world how many of her fans showed up to support her and her music. Though the numbers were impressive, one photo Lady Gaga posted on social media was not from her show but rather one that happened three years ago.

On July 4 the "Applause" singer sang songs from her new "ARTPOP" album as well as some of her classics in an open-air performance at Quebec's Festival d'été that brought out around 90,000 people, according to her Instagram account and Mediaite.

To give props to her fans around the world, Lady Gaga, or whoever manages her social media accounts, posted a photo depicting the large crowds present at the concert.

"Those little dots are fans, and that's our stage and lights beaming from the center. Unreal 90,000 ppl showed up! What a magical night #artraveQuebec," the caption read.

Except, it was not her show.

First to point out the mistake was Gossip Cop, which explained the photo be from Metallica's 2011 show at the same festival and venue.

According to Mediaite, Mother Monster rectified her mistake by taking to Twitter and posting actual photos from her concert and proving that she was not trying to inflate the number of attendees, since the Metallica concert had around 130,000 attendees. However, the Internet moves faster than anyone, and soon her mistake went viral.

Lady Gaga responsed to various critics, which came via various blogs and tweets, saying she "was not trying to fool anyone." However, her explanation soon turned into an attack when she tweeted at the Oh No They Didn't blog.

"Here's a proper pic. Maybe the Madonna fans on your site can use a microscope to count the fans," she tweeted.
