Catherine Castro Hospitalized for Mysterious Illness: Former Televisa Star and Nuestra Belleza Latina Says Doctors Can't Find a Diagnosis
She acted with Danilo Carrera in 'Hijos de la Luna' and is a presenter for WAPA TV

Puerto Rican TV host and model Catherine Castro, known for her time on Nuestra Belleza Latina and the Televisa telenovela Hijas de la Luna, worried her followers after revealing she was rushed to the hospital due to a mysterious illness that doctors have not yet been able to identify.
The 33-year-old presenter, who graduated from Televisa's prestigious Centro de Educación Artística (CEA) and now hosts shows on Wapa TV, shared the news through her Instagram Stories, describing her condition as "an aggressive, painful, and uncomfortable illness" that has affected her both physically and emotionally.
"I never take my health for granted, but I always believed I worked hard enough to keep it protected. Sadly, I'm now battling something that no doctor has been able to detect or identify," she wrote to her 417,000 followers.
Although she hasn't shared an official diagnosis, Castro admitted the symptoms have been severe. "It's a very aggressive, painful, uncomfortable condition, and besides my physical health, it's also affecting me emotionally. Even though I'm always joking and smiling, that doesn't mean I'm not feeling vulnerable. I've been quietly struggling, and now that vulnerability is showing."
The former beauty queen added that it's been years since she faced a health scare like this. "It's been a long time since I've been in a hospital. I don't even remember ever calling 911 before, but there's a first time for everything, I guess," she said.

Castro also thanked her mother, who has been by her side during her recovery. "It's been a very difficult week. We still don't know exactly what's happening to me, but I trust God that it'll turn out to be something minor," she shared, remaining optimistic despite the uncertainty.
Later, she confirmed that she had been discharged and was resting at home while awaiting further test results.
Before becoming a TV personality, Catherine Castro made her mark as a model and beauty pageant contestant. She was a finalist in Nuestra Belleza Latina 2015 and competed again in the VIP edition the following year, sharing the stage with Francisca Lachapel, who went on to win the crown.
Castro studied at the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras before moving to Mexico to pursue acting and hosting at Televisa's CEA.
Her charm and charisma led to roles in Hijas de la Luna, the Netflix biopic Nicky Jam: El Ganador, and the short film Bellum: Proof of Concept.
Since revealing her hospitalization, the host has received an outpouring of love and support from fans and colleagues across Latin America, all wishing her a full recovery and a swift return to television.
