The female comedic duo that lit up the stage at the Golden Globes earlier this year may have a chance to do it again.

According to Deadline, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have been asked co-host the awards ceremony for a second time. Nellie Andreeva of Deadline says she heard that Fey and Poehler originally agreed to host this year's Golden Globes as a one-time gig, but now NBC and Dick Clark Productions are asking them to come back.

It's no surprise the network is asking Fey, the star and creator of '30 Rock,' and Poehler, the star and producer of 'Parks and Recreation,' to return as hosts. With the two as co-hosts, January's awards ceremony drew 19.7 million viewers, which was up 17 percent from the previous year. It also drew a 6.4 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic, and it was one of the most watched Golden Globes ever.

According to Andreeva, there are no known active conversations between Fey, Poehler and NBC. The comedians received an informal offer versus a formal one, so NBC and DCP can "gauge their interest," writes Andreeva.

Fey is currently in her first season of a four-year deal at Universal TV, where she has already sold two big comedy projects and is expected pitch more shows, as well as one written by her, Deadline reports. Aside from starring and producing 'Parks and Recreation,' Poehler, along with Fey, has a busy movie career.

Hosting the Golden Globes may not be a huge hassle for Fey and Poehler, Andreeva suggests. Hosting the Hollywood Foreign Press ceremony requires less work than hosting the Oscars, which requires around three months of diligent preparing.

The Golden Globes were held without a host until 2010, when Ricky Gervais first hosted the live broadcast. Unlike Fey and Poehler, Gervais was given the option to host the awards ceremony again in his original contract. The British comedian went on to host the ceremony in 2011 and 2012.

As co-hosts last year, Fey and Poehler infamously took jabs at James Franco, James Cameron, Quentin Tarantino, and Taylor Swift.

The 71st Golden Globes will air on Jan. 12, 2014, on NBC.
