Several days have passed since the controversial Miley Cyrus VMA performance, which shocked the entire world with her hardcore twerking moves. Most have taken the opportunity to bash the 'We Can't Stop' singer but not the former 'N Sync member, Justin Timberlake.

During his radio interview with Fresh 102.7's Jim Douglas on Tuesday, the 'Mirrors' singer sent a message to haters of Cyrus to just let the young singer grow. He believes that it could have been the former Disney star's way of showing everyone that she's already a grown up. "Let her do her thing," he added.

Timberlake added that Cyrus is not the first to perform such a controversial act on stage in the history of the entertainment industry. He named a few others -- big names like Madonna and his own ex-girlfriend Britney Spears.

When asked what he considers his favorite part in the controversial Miley Cyrus VMA performance, he mentioned the reaction of the Smith family. He emphasized it must just have been the freshest thing in his mind as the news came to him the morning of the interview.

Timberlake is not the only one who has showed support for the 20-year-old. In fact, he is the latest to join the supporters of Miley, along with former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert and Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley's dad.

As for the ones who strongly disagree with the recent 'We Can't Stop' rendition of Cyrus, count Kelly Clarkson and Cyndi Lauper. Clarkson tweeted with the hashtag #pitchystrippers, not directly referring to Cyrus' performance, while Lauper said "It wasn't even art."
