On Friday, Michael Strahan and his fiancée of five years, Nicole Murphy, ended their relationship.

News of Strahan and Murphy's split came just a day before Strahan, a former New York Giants player, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, TMZ reported.

Despite their breakup, People reported there is no drama between Murphy and Strahan. The two continue to have an amicable relationship and blame distance as the reason for their split.

"They love each other very much, but with the distance and work schedule it has been hard to maintain the relationship," Strahan's reps told People.

During their relationship, Strahan lived and still lives in New York working as a co-host for "Live With Kelly and Michael" in addition to his other jobs, while Murphy would travel back and forth from Los Angeles to New York while filming her VH1 reality show, "Hollywood Exes." Prior to their split, Murphy revealed to Wendy Williams that she and Strahan might elope because of his busy working schedule.

"Girl, the man got 20 jobs right now, he's just busy," Murphy told Wendy Williams. "We might just have to run off and elope. We've been busy though. It has just been crazy. ... I have a busy, busy man."

Strahan and Murphy began dating in 2007 and later got engaged in 2009, the NY Daily News reported.

While the couple was still together, they shared a total of nine children from past relationships. Murphy was previously married to comedian and actor Eddie Murphy with whom she had five children, while Strahan had four children from his prior marriages to Jean Muggli and Wanda Hutchins.
