An official release date for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of Minecraft have been hard to come by. First it's this month, then it's been pushed back.

But a forum post with a photo of a GameStop print out show that the Minecraft release for the Xbox One is set for Aug. 19, according to Now Gamer.

It must be noted that 4J, the game's developer along with Mojang, has not confirmed this date. But, rumors around the Internet claim that the PS4 version of the game likely would be released at the same time as the Xbox version.

"We're still fixing #MinecraftXbox1, #MinecraftPS4 and #MinecraftPSVita bugs. We'll let you know when we hand over to the Cert testing teams!" 4J tweeted recently. Last week, reports circulated that the game wouldn't be released on the consoles until sometime in September.

4J also tweeted that it had stopped working on and updating the Xbox 360 version of the game, evidently to focus on the newer console versions.

For those uninitiated with the popular Minecraft game, it involves world creation via breaking and building 3-D blocks. Activities in the game include exploration, gathering resources, crafting and combat.

The Epoch Times has compiled a list of what developers have revealed about the Xbox One version of Minecraft:

  • The Xbox One version will add much bigger worlds than previous console editions.
  • It will cost $19.99.
  • Users who already have the Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft will be able to buy the Xbox One edition for $4.99.
  • Worlds created in Xbox 360 can be imported to the Xbox One but not the other way around. Developers said making an existing world bigger didn't create a problem, but shrinking a world did.
  • Any skins bought for Xbox 360 will be transferable to Xbox One.
