Denzel Washington's publicist is coming forward to deny rumors that the 59-year-old actor recently checked in to rehab due to "hard partying."

Washington's "hard partying" rumor report was first published by TMZ that claimed Washington "was on a yacht during the month of July with his wife ... and was partying and partying hard."

The TMZ report then proceeded to claim Washington checked into an Orange County residence where he resided for over two weeks "to detox after a wild, alcohol-fueled, gluttonous month-long vacation."

During his alleged stint in rehab, sources from TMZ said that the Oscar-winning actor was supervised and aided by professionals including a nutritionist, a trainer, and a chef.

Although TMZ concluded their story by stating that Washington is now "back on his game" after going to rehab, Washington's publicist insists that Washington was never off his game to begin with.

"He does this health cleanse every time he's about to go back to work and start his conditioning and nutritional program. Always cleans up after the family vacation in prep for work. Nothing new," Washington's publicist told Entertainment Tonight.

Washington also came forward to slam rumors of his alleged detox retreat.

On Monday, TMZ posted a video of Washington exiting Tra Di Noi in Malibu on Saturday. In the video, a TMZ photographer is heard asking Washington, "Mr. Washington, you're an absolute genius sir. Is this the first meal you've had since being out of the detox place?"

Washington responds with a puzzled look on face and answers, "What detox place?"

"I don't know, there's a story that you went for a cleanse in Orange County..." the photog insists.

Washington then ignores the TMZ paparazzo and drives off in his black Range Rover.

Despite Washington and his publicist both denying the detox rumors, TMZ is still standing by their story and applauding Washington for putting up a good front.
