The Dallas Cowboys have had one playoff win in the last 18 seasons. They haven't even made the postseason or had a winning record since 2009. Somewhere, however, owner Jerry Jones is smiling because, for the seventh consecutive season, his team is the most valuable team in the National Football League.

It's no surprise that teams in big market areas rank near the top. All four teams that play in the NFC East rank in the top seven most valuable teams. There's not much of a correlation between success and value here. Franchise history, area of the population, loyal fan bases and good stadiums are the ultimate factors.

Although America's team is worth the most in the United States, Real Madrid C.F. is the most valuable sports team in the world. Real Madrid is worth $3.4 billion, making the Cowboys the second most valued sports organization in the world.

The Cleveland Browns have the most talked-about player in the NFL, Johnny Manziel, so it wouldn't be shocking if their net worth increases in the near future. LeBron James coming back to Cleveland doesn't hurt either.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are a bit of a surprise at No. 15, considering they are the most successful team in the Super Bowl era. The Houston Texans have only been a franchise for 12 seasons, but they rank in the top five in value. Houston is a very popular football city, and they are the fourth most populated city in the entire country.

The Saints also surprised many as the No. 23 overall most valuable team.

The least valuable franchise in the NFL is the Saint Louis Rams. The Rams' value has been dropping in recent years, and they haven't experienced a lot of success lately. They will have the option to move the team in 2015. Are the "Los Angeles Rams" a possibility again?
