Less than a week after Sony rejected the latest version of Minecraft, the game's developers evidently have fixed the bugs and resubmitted the game to Sony for certification ahead of a public release.

Developer 4J Studios tweeted Tuesday morning "#Minecraft is back with Sony for final testing. Fingers crossed...," according to Game Zone.

The PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Xbox One versions of the popular open-world game were all supposed to be released in August, but with the extra work that has gone into them, it appears a September release is more likely.

No word has been given on the specific statuses of the PlayStation Vita and Xbox One versions, but they are thought to be on a similar track as the PS4 version.

Sony certification testing is almost certain to take more than one week, according to The Fuse, which seems to back up the rumored September release date.

The PS4 and Xbox One version of Minecraft will come with better graphics and much larger game worlds. Some outlets are reporting there could be as many as 36 game worlds.

The new console version are expected to retail for $19.99, but customers who already have Minecraft on PS3 and Xbox 360 will be allowed to upgrade their versions of the game for $4.99.

Elsewhere in the Minecraft sandbox, the other half of the development team -- Mojang -- has announced that soon it will release the next update for the computer version of the game. Minecraft 1.8 will come with new features, performance upgrades and other changes.

That upgrade will be released on Sept. 2.

Some of the new features in Minecraft 1.8 are Red Sandstone, guardian mobs that will drop items, spectator mode, rabbits that will drop items, a new mob called Endermite and many new achievements.
