Wii U console sales are beating Sony's Playstation 4 console sales in Japan because of strong title releases and excitement over the Wii U console.

Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 3DS was finally introduced to the Japanese markets and almost 1 million people bought it. In fact some places even started selling it before they were supposed to. Next, the Wii U version of the game is sure to spike more and more sales of the Wii U console.

Wii U has some excellent games on the horizon, and Nintendo fans will love Zelda Wii U. The problem, though, is Nintendo fandom is not strong enough to get gamers to buy the Wii U like they buy the PS4 or the Xbox One -- it will always be second fiddle to those giants.

Nintendo gamers will always stay faithful to their favorite characters. With a new Zelda coming out and a new Super Smash Bros. game coming out, these gamers will certainly continue to support the company. Still, they probably also have a PS4 or Xbox One at home.

Other titles like Star Fox, Metroid, Donkey Kong and all of the classics Nintendo gamers remember from the 80s and 90s are other titles that keep Nintendo gamers coming back also.

With many press reports saying Wii U was going to be a sales disaster, it is nice to see these exciting facts and figures. It will be interesting to see what Nintendo can do with some positive information. Maybe they will surprise Sony and Microsoft and start becoming even more competitive? Or perhaps a brand new system debuts in 2015?

What do you think Nintendo will do next? Will they ever be competitive with Sony and Microsoft?
