Known for his colorful candor and word choice, Vice President Joe Biden recently told a college student that the position of VP can be a real "b*tch."

During a speaking engagement at Harvard University's Institute of Politics on Thursday, the 71-year-old political leader joked about his duties in the Obama administration when a student introduced himself as the vice president of the student body, reports CNN. In response, Biden interjected, saying, "Ain't that a b*tch? ... I mean, that vice president thing? Whoa ..."

As the audience laughed, Biden said, "I'm joking, I'm joking. ... Best decision I ever made. ... That was a joke."

He also clarified how he feels about working under President Barack Obama, saying, "I love the guy I work with."

This is far from the first time that Biden has made a salty remark in public.

Back in 2010, a microphone overheard him telling the president that the passage of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, was "a big f*cking deal."

During the Harvard University event, the VP also discussed free trade deals, foreign policy, U.S. relations with China and the Ebola outbreak.

"Managing our relationship with China is the single most essential strategy" for long-term global peace and prosperity, he said, adding that the U.S. will "push back where we must," according to the Boston Globe.

Biden went on to sharply criticize Russian President Vladimir Putin's "use of corruption as a foreign policy tool" against Ukraine.

He also touched on ISIS and other radical terrorist groups, ensuring that they present "no existential threat, none, to our way of life or our security."

"We didn't crumble after 9/11; we didn't falter after the Boston Marathon. We own the finish line," he said to the audience of 750 people.

He reaffirmed his stance that there was no need for the U.S. to have intervened in Syria earlier because there was no "moderate middle" to cultivate -- "the moderate middle was made up of shopkeepers, not soldiers." Now, the U.S. is training more than 7,000 moderate rebels there, he said.

He also stated that the United States must maintain its role as the leading superpower by remaining "the most vibrant" world economy.
