Anticipation of an iOS 8 jailbreak from the Evad3rs group still abounds, but the availability of many previously jailbreak-only features and some loopholes in the initial release of iOS 8 have kept some users content.

The latest has been a loophole that allows the emulated Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) classic games to play on an iPad or iPhone without the need to jailbreak, GMANetwork reported.

A post by Wang Wei on Hacker News revealed a date trick, which involves setting the dating of the device back a few months in order to allow the download of the games.

"Technically, by changing the device's date and time back at least two months on an iPad or iPhone, it is possible to bypass the restrictions on unsigned apps, which allows Apple iOS users to easily run emulators without jailbreaking their devices," Wei said, according to GMANetwork.

Typically, Apple doesn't allow emulators, for copyright reasons, but the loophole allows for downloads of unapproved apps through the Safari browser.

But if a user upgrades when the newer version of iOS 8 is released, they will apparently lose the ability to play the games.

While some wait for Evad3rs or Pangu, for what will likely be a free jailbreak tool, a new team just put itself on the map.

SafeRa1n.com reportedly released iOS 7.1.2 and 8.0.2 jailbreak tools for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that cost $24.99.

Both the usual teams have stated consistently that they will wait for a new release of the iOS 8 before releasing a jailbreak tool, but they are both working on it.

The next release for the mobile operating system is anticipated by the end of the year, and some say as early as late this month.

But some users have walked away from jailbreaking altogether.

MacWorld reported a list of available options, which shows Apple is keeping up with what its consumers want.

This specifically includes the capability to stream from various apps to AirPlay and Apple TV.
