Rubén Aguirre, "Professor Jirafales," attacks Chespirito's first wife and praises Florinda Meza in a viral video

The last episode of Chespirito: Sin Querer Queriendo, the series that chronicles the life of legendary Mexican comedian Roberto Gómez Bolaños on the HBO MAX streaming platform, aired in the third week of July. However, the debate on social media continues, especially regarding the artist's romance with his colleague, Florinda Meza, which led to his divorce from his first wife, Graciela Fernández.

The latest breath of fresh air for the raging gossip surrounding the cast of iconic shows like El Chavo del Ocho and El Chapulín Colorado came courtesy of an interview that actor Rubén Aguirre conducted a few years ago with Mexican journalist Gustavo Adolfo Infante.

In the video that resurfaced on social media this weekend, Aguirre, best known for his role as Professor Jirafales on El Chavo del 8, is seen criticizing Chespirito 's first wife and crediting Meza for the comedian's huge success. His remarks, however, clash with others he had previously spoken against his colleague and performer of the well-known character Doña Florinda.

"I think Roberto never realized that this situation was tearing the group apart because he was obsessed. Speaking badly about her in front of Roberto would have meant losing their friendship and losing everything. Now I can say that he became obsessed with her," Aguirre said in 2015 , a year after Chespirito's death, who died in November 2014.

However, the artist later contradicted himself, as seen in the viral video. "Graciela, there was a moment when she felt responsible for the triumph. It was like she was in charge, and he was in charge, and Roberto obeyed, Roberto very docilely, and that helped Roberto say, 'This is it,'" the actor expressed.

He even applauded Florinda Meza's role in the comedian's life and work.

"Roberto wouldn't have become what he was if he hadn't separated from his wife and moved in with Florinda. I think Florinda cared for him so much, supported him so much, inspired him so much that he went on to do great things," he added.

Rubén Aguirre's statements not only go against what he had said on other occasions, but also vindicate Meza as an artist, despite all the negative opinions expressed by his colleagues such as María Antonieta de las Nieves "La Chilindrina" and Carlos Villagrán "Kiko" and Édgar Vivar "Ñoño."

Chespirito's romantic life was at the center of the HBO MAX series, which was produced by two of his children and in which, according to Meza, the artist's position, who was Gómez Bolaños' second wife, was not taken into account.
