William Levy is making his mark in Hollywood. His latest film is "Addicted" which hit theaters on Friday, Oct. 10. The telenovela star who has been named the Sexiest Man Alive, twice, and is known as the "Cuban Brad Pitt" demands that he is respected by his own name and as the actor that he is.

During an interview with Fox News Latino, Levy told Bryan Llenas that being known as just the "hot guy" "gets annoying," since the 34-year-old Cuban native has worked so hard to build his brand. Although he started as a model and build his way up as a heartthrob in telenovelas, he is now a mainstream actor and wants to be recognized as so.

"I'm not a model, man. I'm an actor. I prefer hearing someone say, 'He's a good actor,'" Levy said. "I [would] like to [interpret] a character, not really being seen as the good looking guy. I don't like that."

The father of two is known for his roles in Latino soap operas (telenovelas) "Cuidado del Angel" and recently "La Tempestad." In 2011 he made his crossover being featured in Jennifer Lopez' music video "I'm into you" as her love interest. 2012 marked the beginning of great opportunities for Levy who finished third as a contestant on "Dancing With the Stars," filmed Tyler Perry's "The Single Mom's Club" in 2013 and starred in commercials for M&M's and beverage giant Pepsi.

When asked if he would be open to doing gay roles on film Levy replied, "I'll have to see. I'm not against that, not at all, but ..." he said, "it'll ultimately be up to the script and whether the character shows a depth of emotion and [if] it's inspirational."

Currently, William plays Quentin Matthews, one of businesswoman Zoe Reynard's (Sharon Leal) extramarital affairs in "Addicted." Matthews, however is not willing to share Reynard, showing an obsessive and dark side of Levy's acting that we have never seen before. "That's why I wanted to do it. You're going to see a different me. I haven't done anything like this in my career before, " Levy said.

As for telenovelas, Levy admits he isn't planning on starring in one for a very long time. Except of course if telenovela legend Thalia would film one with him. The two have worked together before, and he said that they have even spoken about it. But for now, he said they are both too busy with other things.
