What the heck is going on in Florida?

The Sunshine State is home to three NFL teams: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars. Unfortunately for those teams, the start of the 2014 NFL season hasn't gone as planned. Two of those three teams are in last place in their respective divisions, and all three have a losing record.

The three Florida NFL teams have a combined 3-14 record this season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are at the bottom of the bunch. The Jaguars have a winless record at 0-6 this year, and play in the worst division in football, the AFC South. The Jaguars have a terrible passing attack with Chad Henne and Blake Bortles, and their rushing game has been even worse. Toby Gerhart leads the Jaguars with just 123 rushing yards and one touchdown.

Two hundred miles south of Jacksonville, the Buccaneers find themselves at 1-5, the worst record in the NFC.

The Buccaneers haven't had a winning record since 2010, when Josh Freeman was their quarterback. Freeman was a great quarterback for the Buccaneers, but disagreements with management led to a trade. The Buccaneers' lone victory this season came against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, 27-24.

The Buccaneers have also have a terrible offense this season, but third round NFL draft pick Mike Glennon has played well with seven touchdowns and three interceptions. A small bright spot on a terrible team.

Then, there's the Miami Dolphins. Florida's greatest NFL franchise of all time, winner of two Super Bowls and only team to have an undefeated season is currently 2-3.

The Dolphins started their season off with a big comeback win over the New England Patriots in Week 1, but they have lost three of their last four games. The latest loss for the Dolphins was to the Green Bay Packers on a final second game-winning drive in which we saw Aaron Rodgers fake spike the ball like Dan Marino, who played for the Dolphins.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been inconsistent, and running back Knowshon Moreno is out for the season with an ACL injury.

The Dolphins currently rank No. 3 in the AFC East behind the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots.

Sadly, things will most likely get worse for Florida teams before they get better. Florida teams usually benefit from hot weather and humidity early in the season in September and October. Once November and December come around, that's typically when we see Florida teams struggle.

With the defending BCS National Champion Florida State Seminoles starting this season off 5-0, football fans in Florida still have a lot to look forward to with college football. Jameis Winston just needs to stay out of trouble.

In Florida, it appears as if football was meant for Saturday, not Sunday.
