Fresh from their Emmy win against American Idol last Sunday, The Voice was back on air and with the same group of judges fans have come to love.

NBC's hit reality singing competition was back tonight for its fifth season and ready to find great talent from the pool of very talented singers in the U.S. Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green were back in the fluffy red chairs as judges after taking a season off from the show. Aguilera said a season off was just what she needed to be reinvigorated - "for herself, the show and the contestants," noted CBS News.

Comprising the four red seats were The Voice's fantastic four: Aguilera, Green, Blake Shelton and Adama Levine - the judges that have made the show a true hit. Of course, Shakira and Usher did well last season, but you know what we mean.

Tonight's show featured the preliminary stage of the competition: the Blind Auditions. Hopefuls were to sing behind the judges (but in front of the audience) and their voices should be good enough for the judges to turn their seats towards the auditioner, with the bright lights flashing "I Want You."

A few great auditions were heard tonight in the show. First up to audition for season five was Kat Robichaud. A former band vocalist, Kat had a hard time pushing through with music after her dad died. Singing "I've Got The Music In Me", the young North Carolina woman made Blake, Cee Lo and Christina turned their seats for her. The judges described her voice as "raspy", "fresh," and "raw." Kat chose Cee Lo's team.

Cee Lo had the first two auditioners on his team, as 17-year-old Caroline sang "Anything Could Happen" and chose to be in Green's team.

Another memorable audition of the night was from 54-year-old Donna Allen. Singing "You Are So Beautiful", she said she has waited for an opportunity like this for more than two decades. Adam and Christina turned their chairs for her, with the diva even telling her that her voice was like "the heavens opening up." Blake even told Allen to choose Aguilera, but in the end she chose to be in Adam's team.

Another winner for the night was Matthew Schuler, a former University Rugby player. The guy that currently works three jobs and has opened their own church in a building basement sang "Cough Syrup" by Young The Giants which quickly had all four judges turn their seats. Everyone pleaded with Matthew to be in their team, Christina even gave the big guy a hug. In the end, Christina won Matthew on her team.

Another Christina team member was Josh Logan. At 16, Josh got her girlfriend pregnant and had to start working, which stopped him from being a fulltime musician. Now 33, he hopes that this will be his chance to live a life-long dream. Singing "Too Much", Josh had Adam, Blake and Christina turn their seats; but in the end, he chose Aguilera as his coach.

The Voice season 5 will start airing every Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
