"Minecraft" will get some orange and special textures thanks to a recently released free patch.

Gamers of the popular building game will be able to change their characters and buildings. Get ready for scary looking Zombies, Creepers and more.

Even special fictional characters like Slenderman will make an appearance in the patch. It is a nice and timely idea for "Minecraft" to release this patch, and it's free, so why not? Perhaps it will get gamers playing video games instead of going out and playing pranks and eating candy.

Check out this Halloween "Minecraft" tweet from 4JSpookios (Studios):

Pretty cool, isn't it? This isn't the first time that 4JStudios released one of these free packs. They did the same thing last year.

If you're interested, download the texture as quick as you can because it won't last long and before you know it a Thanksgiving Gobbler texture or a Santa Claus texture will be out. There could even be a New Year's texture.

The call for textures in Minecraft might please some, while others may think it is too cheesy. Take a look at this tweet responding to these textures:

Let's face it, Legos are huge. Legos are everywhere. Now Legos and "Minecraft" are teaming up. The partnership with LEGO and "Minecraft" makes perfect sense. In "Minecraft" you build things. With Legos, you build things as well. Perfect match up.

You can get your hands on some pretty cool "Minecraft" sets for about $30 at Target.

In addition, Phil Spencer, who is the head of Microsoft's Xbox, recently discussed the possibilities of a sequel to "Minecraft."

"The community around 'Minecraft' is as strong as any community out there," he said. "We need to meet the needs and the desires of what the community has before we get permission to go off and do something else. It doesn't mean that everything we're going to do is going to map to 100 percent of their acceptance because I don't know if there is any topic where 100 percent of people agree, but we look at job one is to go out and meet the needs of the Minecraft community first, and then we can think about ways that we can actually help grow it. That's our sole focus."
