Next summer will see the premiere of the highly anticipated film "Terminator 5."

Yes, the fifth "Terminator" film, titled "Terminator: Genisys," will be debuting next year. The film will have stars in it from "Doctor Who," "Divergent" and HBO's "Game of Thrones."

The November issue of Entertainment Weekly showcased various collector edition covers that featured the cast of the "Terminator: Genisys" film. Based on what was revealed at the start of this month, there are five key things that we know so far about the fifth "Terminator" film.

1. Who's in it?

Arnold Schwarzenegger is back!

Yes, the original Terminator which started it all has returned, playing the similar robotic role, but there is a twist -- more on that later.

Also in the film is Emilia Clarke ("Game of Thrones"), who is playing the role of Sarah Connor. Clarke's role makes her the second "Game of Thrones" actress to be play that character. Lena Headey played her in the short-lived TV series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."

In the role of Kyle Reese is Jai Courtney from "Divergent." Meanwhile, "Doctor Who's" Matt Smith will be playing an ally of John Connor's.

Smith is enamored to be working on the fifth Terminator film.

"It's like going on tour again if you're Pink Floyd -- the audience always wants to hear some of the old songs," Smith said, Entertainment Weekly reported. "There are enough nods to the past that people will feel satisfied."

The saviour John Connor will be played by Jason Clarke ("Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," "Zero Dark Thirty"). J.K. Simmons from the movie "Whiplash" is also playing a mysterious role.

And Miles Dyson, the character who gave Skynet thought, will be played by Courtney B. Vance ("Law and Order: Criminal Intent," "The Hunt for Red October"). The modern T-800 killer robot is Aaron V. Williamson, actor and trainer to the stars.

2. Where in the world is the "Terminator:Genisys" being filmed?

As of now, the movie is filming in New Orleans, Louisiana and California.

3. What is "Terminator: Genisys" all about?

The group of filmmakers behind this iteration, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and the director Alan Taylor ("Thor: The Dark World"), are going to affect the Terminator canon. It will still have killer robots, time travel, lots of explosions, a love story and death.

In other words, the premise of the story is still the same: It is set in 2029, when the Future War is still raging. A band of human rebels are fighting against the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet. John Connor is still the leader of the resistance and Kyle Reese is his loyal soldier. They have all been raised in the ruins of a post-apocalyptic California.

Similar to the first film,1984 's "The Terminator," Connor sends Reese back in time to save Connor's mother from a Terminator who has been programmed to kill her, Entertainment Weekly reported. In the new movie, Sarah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. She then is raised by Schwarzenegger's Terminator -- an older T-800 version. Schwarzenegger's Terminator is programmed to guard her rather than kill her, as in "The Terminator."

This relationship makes Sarah antisocial. She is highly trained in gun play but lacks skills in understanding human emotion.

"Since she was 9 years old, she has been told everything that was supposed to happen," Ellison said. "But Sarah fundamentally rejects that destiny. She says, 'That's not what I want to do.' It's her decision that drives the story in a very different direction."

Simmons adds that he enjoyed working with the cast on this Terminator film iteration.

"Yeah, most of my stuff was with Jai Courtney and Emilia Clarke, and Arnold was very involved or rather I was involved in a fair amount of stuff with Arnold," Simmons said, according to ComingSoon.net. "I spent very little time actually with Jason Clarke, but yeah I got to work with all four of the leads of the film and from the table read on, I was just favorably impressed by everybody's work."

4. Why make another "Terminator" film?

This film franchise has made close to a billion dollars. James Cameron set the bar high with his first two Terminator films. Paramount, who is helming this project, is slated to release two more film following "Terminator: Genisys." The movie studio is hoping to reinvigorate the franchise once more.

5. When?

"Terminator: Genisys" is slated to come out in July 2015.
