It's only Week 2, but the best teams in the NBA are standing out early. The Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets have looked dominant so far, with a lot of disappointing teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks.

Here are the top five teams in the NBA right now:

1. Golden State Warriors

Steve Kerr is doing an excellent job as the Warriors' head coach so far. The Warriors' powerful offense has guided them to a 5-1 record overall. The Warriors also have key victories over the Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings. Stephen Curry is averaging 27.7 points per game, and Andrew Bogut is averaging 11.2 rebounds per game this season. The Warriors still have some defensive issues to figure out, but they're No. 1 right now.

2. Houston Rockets

Thanks to James Harden and Dwight Howard, the Rockets are 6-1 after seven games of play. Trevor Ariza has been playing terrific for the Rockets, as well. As usual, the Rockets are shooting and making a lot of 3-point shots, as they did lead the league in perimeter shots made last season. The only loss for the Rockets this season was against the Warriors at home. Other than defense, this Rockets team does need to improve their passing for long-term success. Harden leads the Rockets in scoring and assists.

3. Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies are 6-1 out in front of the Southwest division. This team has a lot of great defenders such as Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. Gasol and Randolph also lead the Grizzlies in scoring, making this one of if not the best front court combinations in the NBA. The offense is still a work in progress, but Vince Carter is providing minutes off the bench every game. This Grizzlies squad has made the playoffs four consecutive seasons for a reason.

4. Miami Heat

Even without LeBron James, this is still a good basketball team. Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are playing great as well as Luol Deng. Most likely the Cleveland Cavaliers will have the last laugh and finish with more wins, but for now, the Heat are the better team. The Heat have big wins over the Dallas Mavericks and the Toronto Raptors. Mario Chalmers has been playing a big role off the bench for the Heat, as well, and the Heat need that all season long from him.

5. San Antonio Spurs

Head coach Gregg Popovich has a long history of resting his players but not this early in the season. Popovich is a five-time NBA champion, so Spurs fans should trust him. The Spurs are just 3-3, but as the defending champions, they deserve another week in the top five rankings. Tony Parker and Tim Duncan appear to be healthy, and Manu Ginobili is getting plenty of rest. The injury to Tiago Splitter, though, could cause some problems for San Antonio.
