The trailer to "Insurgent" has been revealed and demonstrates a new look to the series.

After months of waiting for the first footage of the "Divergent" sequel, Lionsgate and Summit are releasing the teaser trailer to "Insurgent" in front of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1." The news comes as no surprise as the studio did the same thing last year for the release of "Divergent."

Those looking for plot details will be left wanting more after watching this new trailer. The trailer features a flying house that's on fire and some sort of dream sequence that the main heroine Tris must surpass. Her task is to save her mother from the flying house. However, Lionsgate does not reveal if Tris succeeds.

The movie, which stars Shailene Woodley, definitely has a darker feel as the imagery is very grey and it almost feels a bit like the upcoming "Hunger Games" movie. The trailer also features some slow motion and it also shows Tris with a new haircut.

For those who were unsatisfied with the lack of action in the first one, there seems to be a lot in this upcoming film and it also seems like there will be a lot of CGI work. However, for those who complained about the similarities to other young adult novels, it does not seem like the studio tried to differentiate itself from others.

Along with the trailer, the company also revealed some character posters of some of "Divergent" characters and some new ones. It also unveiled a one sheet that features the flying house.

"Insurgent" tells the story of Beatrice Prior, who must confront her inner demons and continue her fight against a powerful alliance which threatens to tear her society apart. The film also stars Ashley Judd, Ansel Elgort, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Miles Teller, Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer.

The fact that Lionsgate is revealing the trailer in front of the "Hunger Games" demonstrates that the studio is catering to the same audience -- teenage girls. Last year, Lionsgate's campaign succeeded as "Divergent" went on to make $154 million domestically and $288.75 million worldwide. Even though the first movie scored mediocre reviews and had many complaining about the similarity to other young adult films and the unoriginal content, fans of the book went to cinemas and made the film a success.

Woodley's popularity also played to the success of the first feature. Over the past year, she has headlined two No. 1 films and also made a small Indie film that was hailed for her captivating performance. "Divergent" was her biggest success, but was followed by "The Fault in Our Stars," which surprised over the summer and beat out "Edge of Tomorrow." In the fall, she starred in the Sundance release "White Bird in a Blizzard," which was a hit on VOD.

"Insurgent" hits theaters on March 20, 2015 and will be followed by "Allegiant Part 1" and "Allegiant Part 2."
