Sharon Tucker, the mother of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" husband Todd Tucker, died suddenly from a stroke on Tuesday, People reports.

The Daily Mail adds that Sharon fell ill while she was in New York on Monday and was quickly rushed to the hospital by one of Todd's friends.

Upon her arrival at the hospital, Sharon was unconscious and later fell into a coma and passed away early Tuesday morning, says the Daily Mail.

Following the news of his mother's stroke, Todd flew from Atlanta to New York to be with his mother before she died, the People reports.

Todd's wife and fellow "RHOA" cast mate, Kandi Burruss, was still in Atlanta at the time of Sharon's passing and failed to make it in time to New York.

Both Kandi and Todd took to Instagram to pay tribute to Todd's mother, who was often referred to as Miss Sharon on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."

Kandi described Sharon as a "young spirit" who kept in touch with Todd "every day."

"It's hard losing people that you love but when it's out of the blue with no warning it just makes it that much harder. ... I'm still in shock," she continued.

Todd described his mother as a "fighter" and "warrior for her son."

"It was me and her against the world!" he added.

Fans immediately flooded Kandi and Todd's Instagram timelines to give their condelences.

"Sorry 4 your family lost keeping u in Todd in my prayer this is just a shocked might not know u like that but your family in ever 1 eyes & my heart goes out 2 y'all love u both & stay strong," one Instagram user, candi867, wrote.

Another Instagram user, @spanishqueen1, added, "I loved your mother on the show! She always kept it real. She wasn't phony. And I could tell she loved her son. Man, I am so sorry for your loss. She was down for you always. She's in a better place, she's at peace."

Miss Sharon's funeral date has not yet been revealed.
