The New York Yankees could add a key player into their bullpen as reports revealed that Andrew Miller is about to make his free-agency decision anytime this week.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported that three teams are still in the race to sign Miller, but the Yankees appear to be the most likely landing spot for the 29-year-old reliever despite threats from other teams.

Sources indicated that the Houston Astros are also aggressively shopping for a reliever, and Miller is reportedly on top of their list. According to Heyman, team owner Jim Crane is involved in Houston's pursuit of Miller, who posted a 2.02 ERA with 103 strikeouts in 73 games with the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox last season.

However, the Yankees are tipped to win the race to sign Miller, considering the fact that they are willing to offer a four-year deal to Miller. Reports said that Miller is looking for a contract close to $40 million for four years -- an asking price that might be too much for the Astros.

The Yankees are still in talks with their own free-agent closer, David Robertson, but it won't affect their pursuit of Miller. Heyman pointed out that the Yankees are more willing to strike a deal with Miller because he commands lesser money, but are still open to keeping Robertson to bolster their bullpen.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were also mentioned as a possible landing spot, but they are reportedly unwilling to sign another expensive pitcher this offseason.

Miller was also linked to Boston, but the Red Sox are reportedly prioritizing talks with Jon Lester at this point. Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington recently said in an interview with MLB Network that he is unsure of their chances of acquiring Miller this offseason.

"We're happy for him, because we saw him go from a guy trying to find himself to really flourishing in a role. He's a great guy. I don't know. That decision's in his hands, not ours. I don't know where it is, exactly where he's heading," Cherington said via NESN.
