Previous beauty queens have taken on "Nuestra Belleza Latina" and won, and now Mayra Matos, who was Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2009 and competed in Miss Universe, is trying to accomplish the same thing.

Matos will be competing in the 2015 reality show and hopes to follow in the footsteps of Aleyda Ortiz, Vanessa de Roide and Melissa Marty, according to TV y Novelas.

Matos confirmed the news after her image appeared in promotional material for the show, which will kick off on Jan. 18.

"Dear family and friends, many have asked if I have auditioned for 'Nuestra Belleza Latina' 2015," she said. "With these images, the answer is clarified."

The 26-year-old contestant wouldn't give any more details. Instead, she told people to tune in to the show.

This year's contest will bring a few changes, notes Univision.

Jacqueline Bracamontes will be working as a judge on the show. She will be there to guide the other beauty queens.

Jomari Goyso is also going to be a judge. He will be working on the contestants' images.

Ortiz will be the social media host for the show, which means she will keep viewers up-to-date on what's trending and how to join in on the conversation.

"Social media is a fundamental part of our show because the audience gives us direct answers as to what they like to see," Univision said. "Plus, we have 'giveaway,' live chats, exclusive clips and everything that happens in the mansion and on air."

Ortiz was the 2014 winner of "Nuestra Belleza Latina." After winning, she explained that she hopes to become a singer.

"I love music, writing songs and I always said that I wanted to put together a group with my sisters," Ortiz said according to TV y Novelas.
