The rumors are flying fast and furious about the Samsung Galaxy S6, the moniker given to whatever handset Samsung is cooking up for the spring. Now there's a new set of "leaked specs" and purported features rumored for the 2015 flagship.

So which set of rumored specs is correct?

It Could Be Both

A second Samsung Galaxy S6 -- at least the name we're calling the purported follow-up to last year's middling Samsung Galaxy S5 (announced last February and released in April of 2014) -- has appeared on AnTuTu's benchmarking site, according to SamMobile.

As opposed to previously reported specs for the GS6, the second set on the benchmark site show a less-powerful (but still pretty outstanding) 16-megapixel camera.

The previously reported GS6 -- also supposedly called "Project Zero" for the "back to the drawing board" approach Samsung is purportedly taking with its newest flagship handset -- had a camera possibly reaching 20-megapixels.

Another difference seems to be the addition of some details on the S6's Exynos SoC, which is supposedly to include a Mali-T760 GPU.

What Does It Mean?

First of all, it means it's still early and you should take all rumored reports and spec leaks with a healthy grain of salt. It's not likely that we'll have hammered-down rumored specs until sometime in January, and we won't know for sure until a month later.

But it's also not out of the question that Samsung will take a dual-model approach with its next flagship smartphone. Need we remember that it's already common for the Korean phone-maker to launch two versions of its Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series? That would be one variant with (usually) the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon and one with a Samsung-custom Exynos processor.

For an example of a possible scenario: If the rumored new 20-megapixel sensor is too expensive or hampers mass production, it wouldn't be surprising to see at least two models, if not more, for the Galaxy S6 -- especially if the particularly rare models are an exclusive to one market, like Korea.

That's happened before, too, with previously released exclusive LTE-A Korean versions of Samsung handsets.
