During a recent interview with Loaded, Academy award winning actor, Ben Affleck credited his wife of nine years and fellow actress, Jennifer Garner for his flourishing acting career, the Daily Mail reports.

Though Garner  previously co-starred with Affleck in "Daredevil" and "Pearl Harbor" which were both considered to be "critical duds," Affleck insists that his wife's love is the reason why he chose to direct the critically acclaimed, "Gone Baby Gone" and is now thriving in the world of Hollywood, says the Daily Mail.

"Getting to know Jennifer, falling in love with her and being connected with her gave me a foundation to reach out and say, 'Okay, I'm going to do Hollywoodland," Affleck told Loaded. "'I'm going to direct Gone Baby Gone.' Those were the steps forward I needed to put positive stuff on the board."

Prior to his success in Hollywood, Affleck garnered a reputation for starring in badly reviewed films with his now celebrity exes.

Entertainment Tonight notes that Affleck starred in arguably his biggest movie flop "Gigli" alongside his then-girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez in 2003.

Prior to "Gigli," Affleck starred in "Bounce" alongside his former beau, Gwyneth Paltrow, which was also poorly received by critics.

But despite the lack of success he's had starring alongside his former flings, Affleck still considers his past relationships to be "lucky."

"I've been really lucky in my personal relationships," he continued. "I look back and think the major relationships I've had were all with really good people who I like quite a bit still to this day."

According to the Daily Mail, Affleck and Garner first met while working opposite each other on the set of "Pear Harbor" in 2001.

They later tied the knot in 2005 and now have three children together.

Us Weekly recently spotted the Hollywood couple looking "super-affectionate" in Los Angeles. Prior to being spotted in L.A., Affleck gushed about his wife to Us, describing her as "an amazing and strong woman."
