On Sunday, Pope Francis named 20 new cardinals with 15 being of voting age.

The pope chose a diverse range of cardinals. A large number of the voting age members, who have to be younger than 80, are from smaller countries. The official breakdown is five from Europe, three from Asia, three from Latin America, two from Africa and two from Oceania.

Cape Verde, Myanmar, Tonga, Panama and Vietnam are some of the places where Pope Francis looked to find new members.

This is the second group of cardinals named by the pope, and the newest group will be inducted on Feb. 14 at St. Peter's Basilica, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The five other members will be part of the College of Cardinals, but the retired bishops will not be able to vote for the next pope because of their age, notes the BBC.

Caroline Wyatt, BBC's Religious Affairs Correspondent, notes electing cardinals is one of the biggest ways the pope can influence the Catholic Church. Wyatt added by looking at smaller countries, Pope Francis is "trying to reflect the diversity and growth of the Church in developing nations."

Here's a list of the cardinals and where they are from, according to The Associated Press. The last five are not of voting age.
