Last night, one of the first awards shows of the year ended with many winners -- after all, there were 57 categories. The 41st People's Choice Awards saw new winners as well as old ones, but some new nominees upstaged veteran contenders.

The People's Choice Awards, described on its website as "the original metric of pop culture," allows movie, TV and music fans to have their voices heard.

"People's Choice Awards celebrates fan favorites in movies, music and television and is the only major awards show where real people -- not industry insiders -- determine the nominees and winners, setting it apart from other awards shows," the website says.

The everlasting list of nominees covered everything from Dramedy to Country musicians.

Of all the nominees, "The Big Bang Theory" did very well. The CBS comedy and its actors won in various categories, including Favorite Network Comedy and Favorite TV Show. Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting also won Favorite Comedic TV Actress.

In the Favorite Cable Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show category, however, Starz's "Outlander" beat popular shows like "Game of Thrones" and "Doctor Who." "Maleficent" also beat out "Guardians of the Galaxy" for Favorite Movie.

In an interesting turn of events, the Azealia Banks and Iggy Azealea beef made a brief appearance during the ceremony, reports Billboard. Iggy won Favorite Hip-Hop Artist, but before she received her award, presenter Monica Potter of "Parenthood" joked about her favorite rappers, "Dr. Drew" and "Igloo Australia" (the latter is a moniker Banks used when referring to Iggy).
