While accepting his Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement, George Clooney delivered a heartfelt speech thanking his wife, Amal Alamuddin, for her love and support.

The couple -- who got married earlier in September -- has been the subject of split and infidelity rumors since they tied the knot. However, Clooney put an end to the rumors on Sunday night with his acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, the Daily Beast reports.

"I've had a pretty good year myself," he said while eyeing Alamuddin in the audience. "Listen: It's a humbling thing when you find someone to love -- even better when you've been waiting your whole life. And when your whole life is 53 years, Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn't be more proud to be your husband."

Following Clooney's heartfelt speech, the Golden Globes crowd said a collective "aww" and cheered the newlywed couple on.

Clooney also paid tribute to his new love through his Golden Globe outfit.

Us Weekly reports that Clooney opted to wear his wedding day tuxedo on the big night while his wife chose to wear a simple all black Dior gown.

"I'm wearing my wedding tux," Clooney told Us Weekly on the red carpet. "[Alamuddin] was looking at dresses last night still, trying to figure out what she was going to wear and I was watching the football game. Two o'clock this afternoon, I was still watching football and she's ... It's not fair to women these award shows."

Prior to the couple's first red carpet appearance as husband and wife at the Globes, rumors surfaced about an alleged divorce between the couple due to Clooney's romantic feelings for his "Gravity" co-star, Sandra Bullock.

A source from Naughty Gossip reported that Bullock is allegedly head over heels in love with Clooney and acknowledges him as "the one that got away," while Clooney thinks that Bullock is "incredibly charming."

Despite the rumors, Clooney's acceptance speech proved to tell a much different tale and will perhaps put the rumors to rest.
