Although the Xbox One was off to a slow start, it is now selling at a faster rate than PS4 preorders, according to a video game sales tracking site called VG Chartz.

In the United States, people pre-ordered 125,000 new PS4 consoles since August 24, which increased the total number to 725,000. The Xbox One, on the other hand, has only brought in a total of 525,000 customers so far but the 175,000 units sold since Aug. 24 puts Microsoft on a better pace than Sony in the race for the best game console.

"Week one sales for both consoles in the US are expected to be pretty similar," VG Chartz said in a blog post. "At the current pace the PlayStation 4 should sell just over one million units, while the Xbox One should sell just under one million units."

The same website also listed some of the top selling video games on both the Xbox One and PS4 systems. Xbox One is winning the race in sales of Call of Duty: Ghosts while the PS4 has sold more than 100,000 copies of Battlefield 4 with 273,776. Still, Xbox 360 has sold 153,221 copies. NBA 2K14 is number 8 on the sales list for PS4 but is not even in the top 10 for Xbox One. Madden 25 is ninth on the Xbox and is seventh for PS4.

The Xbox One can be purchased starting on Nov. 22 while the PS4 will already be out for a week after it gets released on Nov. 15.
