Rumor mills are spinning, claiming the reboot of 20th Century Fox's "Fantastic Four" is in dire straits as the director has put the project in jeopardy.

The gossip began this week when a Reddit user claiming to be an editor on the upcoming film praised the film but started speculation about director Josh Trank triggering dilemmas during production that postponed marketing of the summer blockbuster.

Matthew Vaughn, director of "Kick-Ass," "X-Men: First Class" and most recently the action-spy film "Kingsman: The Secret Service" which hits cinemas on Jan. 29, however, told Flickering Myth he likes what he saw of Trank's take on Marvel's first family and longest-running superhero team.

Vaughn said if moviegoers loved Trank's 2012 sci-fi thriller "Chronicle," then they are in for a treat.

"I've seen the movie, it's good. ... I thought 'Chronicle' was a fantastic movie, and [Josh] Trank has gone off and done his version of Fantastic Four," Vaughn said. "If you like 'Chronicle,' then you'll like this. ... We're all backing Josh Trank's vision. ... And hopefully the world will like Josh Trank's vision."

Simon Kinberg, the film's screenwriter, told Latino Review the reshoots will only be three to four days of additional photography "with director Josh Trank and some key cast members" and gave a trailer premiere date that will hopefully be released in cinemas when "Kingsman" hits cinemas on Feb. 13.

"Fantastic Four" stars Kate Mara as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Miles Teller as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Toby Kebbell as Victor Domashev/Dr. Doom. The film is set to release on Aug. 7.
