Conan O'Brien will let Rob "Gronk" Gronkowski and Marshawn Lynch get a few licks on each other prior to Sunday's Super Bowl. The talk show host will only let the competitors play against each other in the video game Mortal Kombat X, however.

The special episode of "Conan" airs on Thursday on TBS at 11 p.m. eastern and will feature a "Clueless Gamer" session between Gronk and Lynch.

In a preview video, Gronk and Lynch both appear to have customized characters in the game and are shown attacking each other in Mortal Kombat X.

While the two fight, Conan beatboxes and Lynch dances. Next, Lynch whispers to Conan "what you on?" thinking that Conan is on drugs.

"I'm not on anything, I'm on Lipitor," O'Brien replies. "That's my drug of choice."

O'Brien then adds that he gets free money by saying Lipitor. Then, Gronk and Lynch both want in on the free money idea; Gronk keeps saying the word Lipitor, hoping he will get paid.

The video, which is likely just a preview of a longer sketch on Thursday's "Conan," takes Lynch out of character a little bit. Normally, Lynch fears the media and does not like to be in the public eye.

Gronk and Lynch's ability to play a version of the not-yet-released Mortal Kombat X suggests that the game is at least playable in a demo version. Mortal Kombat X is set for an April release, but if "Conan" has a demo version available already, the game might be almost finished. It's also nice to see that characters are customizable; could this mean "Mortal Kombat X" will have this feature in the full version come April?

This week, Lynch has not said much to the media. One day he repeated the same phrase. Thursday he gave a longer lecture to the mediaMeanwhile, Gronk seems to enjoy media attention and does not decline interviews.

Gronk and Lynch will face off in Sunday's Super Bowl that pits Gronk's New England Patriots against Lynch's Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 6:30 p.m. eastern time on NBC.
