On Saturday afternoon, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star Bruce Jenner was involved in a devastating car crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu that involved a four-car collision resulting in one fatality, TMZ reports.

Police officials are still investigating the details of the accident, but TMZ claims that while stopping at a red light, Jenner hit a woman in a white car who then hit another vehicle. Upon hitting the other vehicle, the woman in the white car allegedly spun out of control into oncoming traffic and died from the impact of another car.

TMZ adds that eight people were involved in the tragic accident. Some of the people suffered minor to moderate injuries and Jenner supposedly suffered no injuries.

Police officials state Jenner was not speeding at the time of the incident and passed a blood alcohol test that was administered to him at the hospital.

Prior to going to the hospital, Jenner was swarmed by a group of paparazzi.

At the time, Jenner reportedly told police officials that the paparazzi had nothing to do with the crash. He described the paparazzi following him as "nothing unusual," People adds.

And while the paparazzi appear to be off the hook for causing the accident, TMZ alleges that Jenner's smoking while driving is suspected to have caused the crash.

According to People, TMZ initially said that Jenner's phone was confiscated by police to determine whether Jenner was texting at the time of the accident. However, TMZ has since corrected that report, which now accuses Jenner of smoking while driving.

If police officials discover that Jenner was texting or smoking while driving, he could be prosecuted for vehicular manslaughter.

So far, the Kardashian family has yet to speak publicly on the fatal car crash. News of Jenner's car accident comes on the heels of publications alleging that Jenner is transitioning to become a woman. He is reportedly going to have an interview with Diane Sawyer to discuss his transition journey.
