The Playstation 4 was released less than a week ago and the Xbox One will be released this week. As we remain sandwiched between releases, the big question remains: Which platform is better?

The question has become a much more difficult one to answer considering the different themes, features, target audiences, and more. Sony and Microsoft have dug deeper to find more and more ways to market their products, even much further beyond the regular gameplay. The Xbox One features some cool external features such as the kinect as well as a contract with the NFL to bring exclusive football content to the console, while the PS4 is boosting up the Playstation Network.

Expert developers, writers, and others have been offering their own personal opinions on what they think of the rival platforms and which one they believe has the edge early on.

"From inside the weird and cozy indie bubble it sure feels like Sony is "winning" to me, but I am not really sure whether that is even remotely an accurate taking of temperature of what's going on in the real world," Adam Saltsman said to The Guardian. "The weird thing is that when it comes down to it, I'm pretty hard pressed to point out any substantial differences at all between the Xbox One and the PS4, but I think there are a lot of small things that Sony is doing that are adding up, and I think the Steamboxes are going to take a bite out of Xbox's pie too, especially on the hardcore gamer end of the spectrum."

Others are impressed with the way Sony has invested in the future by building a solid foundation of relationships with business partners that they have been working with. The way Sony has gone about business could pay off as people notice the way they operate.

"I think Sony has an undeniable advantage, and not for the hardware or the technical specs of the console itself, but for the way it managed to establish meaningful relationships with new creators and new development studios," Massimo Guarini said to The Guardian. "Sony is not just shopping around for new games, they truly believe in what they're buying into"
