In honor of International Women’s Day, which was celebrated on Sunday, the hit series “Doctor Who” released a photo on social media commemorating all the women who have taken part in the series.

The “Doctor Who” Twitter account, as well as all associated accounts, shared a photo of various women inside the TARDIS, the Doctor’s space and time traveling machine.

According to Radio Times, among the women present were Jenna Coleman, who plays current companion Clara, and Michelle Gomez, the new incarnation of the Master. Other women who appeared in the photo are some of the various women who have worked on the show.

All the women currently working on the show’s ninth season appear, including line producer Tracie Simpson and producer Nikki Wilson, as well as director Hettie MacDonald.

The “Doctor Who” Twitter account also posted various photos of actors who played previous companions, including Billie Piper (Rose Tyler), Catherine Tate (Donna Noble), Freema Agyeman (Martha Jones) and Karen Gillan (Amy Pond).

Photos included women who worked on the series since its inception. Verity Lambert, the show’s first producer, and Delia Derbyshire, who arranged the first opening title music for the sci-fi show, were also commemorated on the Twitter page.

Although Jenna Coleman appears on the photos, she was considering leaving the show. According to Digital Spy, “Doctor Who” producer Steven Moffat confirmed that Coleman had been planning on leaving the show after the eighth season, but she will indeed return.

"That was her last episode," he said, referring to the episode “Death in Heaven.” "And then she asked me if she could be in [the] Christmas [special]. So I said, 'OK, I'll write you out in Christmas'.

"She came to the read through and did the 'write out' version -- and again changed her mind."

Moffat admitted he never wanted her to leave the show and had written an alternative Christmas Special with her on it.

The show returns in autumn of 2015.
