What the heck is going on in the City of Brotherly Love?

The Eagles are making headlines across the NFL world on an hourly basis with their bizarre head-scratching decisions.

In their most recent decision, the Eagles decided to trade their starting quarterback Nick Foles to the St. Louis Rams for Sam Bradford. A truly one-sided trade indeed. Bradford has torn his ACL the last two consecutive seasons, while Foles has proven to be an excellent starting quarterback in Philadelphia. Bradford is a terrible fit for the "Chip Kelly offense" because he isn't very mobile when compared to Foles.

The Eagles did however re-sign Mark Sanchez to a two-year contract with nearly $6 million in guaranteed money. To make things even more weird, the Eagles gave up a second round draft pick for Bradford, despite the fact that he didn't even play a single game last season. It's hard for many to believe that LeSean McCoy "cost too much" at $8 millions, but you're willing to pay nearly $13 million for Bradford next season.

Speaking of McCoy, one of the best running backs in the NFL, he is no longer with the team after being traded away to the Buffalo Bills. In return, the Eagles got back a linebacker (Kiko Alonso) who also didn't even play a single game last season. McCoy is just 26 years old, and he is widely regarded as one of the best running backs in the league. McCoy was also a great fit for the spread option offense in Philadelphia.

The Eagles have also lost their two best wide receivers in each of the last two seasons. Last season the team released DeSean Jackson, and this offseason they lost their No. 1 wide out to the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency, Jeremy Maclin.

When you put things in perspective, the Eagles have lost their best running back, starting quarterback and two best wide receivers over the last two off-season's while getting back just an injury prone Bradford, a linebacker who didn't play last season and a fifth round draft pick.

Popular opinion around the league is that Kelly wants quarterback Marcus Mariota in the upcoming NFL Draft. The Eagles hold the No. 20 draft pick, so odds are they will have to trade up if they want the Oregon quarterback. Problem here is, you've traded away your biggest and best trade assets that could possibly move you up in the draft. The Eagles could have used McCoy to trade up for an earlier first round pick.

Former San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore was expected to sign with the Eagles this week. However, he changed his mind and chose to play for the Indianapolis Colts instead.

According to multiple reports, Foles is "overjoyed" to be out of Philadelphia. Is Kelly's decision making having a negative impact on potential free agents?

Kelly must have a plan in place, but only time will tell if it works. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie is giving Kelly all the power to succeed, or fail. Usually the teams, like the Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders, that are the most active in the offseason tend to worse in the regular season.
