On March 13, the SXSW Film Festival will kick off in Austin, Texas and will showcase hundreds of new feature films, and a number of Latinos will represent at the festival with a number of diverse films.

Oscar Isaac will showcase his latest film “Ex Machina.” The Guatemalan actor stars in Alex Garland’s feature film, which also stars Domhnall Gleeson and Alicia Vikander and which is slated to be released in a month by A24. The science fiction film tells the story of a young programmer who is selected to participate in a breakthrough experiment in artificial intelligence by evaluating the human qualities of a breathtaking female A.I..

Bobby Cannavale and Brazilian actress Morena Baccarin will be showcased in Paul Feig’s latest film “Spy” with Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law and Rose Byrne. The comedy, which is due out in June tells the story of a desk-bound CIA analyst who volunteers to go undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent diabolical global disaster. The comedy is making its premiere at the festival and it will be showcased in the headliners section.

Aubrey Plaza will co-star in Jamie Babbit’s latest movie “Fresno.” Making its world premiere in the Narrative Spotlight section, the film also stars Judy Greer and it follows the lives two co-dependent sisters who work as hotel maids in Fresno.

Rosa Salazar will star in Charles Hood’s latest film “Night Owls.” The actress will star alongside Adam Pally and the movie will make its world premiere in the Narrative Spotlight section. The film tells the story of a workaholic Kevin who has a drunken one-night stand with the beautiful train-wreck Madeline.

Colombian actress Angie Cepeda and Mexican Oscar nominee Adriana Barraza will co-star in Robert Duvall’s latest directorial effort. The movie, also starring Duvall, James Franco and Josh Hartnett, tells the story of a Texas ranch family whose idyllic life unravels as the Texas Rangers reopen and investigate a 15-year-old missing person case. The movie will also world premiere in the narrative spotlight section.

The Documentary spotlight section will see Sara Hirsh Bordo’s latest film will make its world premiere. The movie entitled “A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story” is a documentary that follows the inspiring journey of 25-year-old, 58-pound Lizzie from cyber-bullying victim to anti-bullying activist.

In the 24 Beats Per Second sidebar, Mexico will bring their film “Gloria.” The movie, which recently opened in theaters, tells the story of Gloria Trevi, the “Mexican Madonna.” The film chronicles the singer’s huge success with her style and catchy songs, as well as her larger-than-life scandals.

Mathew Ramirez Warren will bring his film “We Like It Like That” to the 24 Beats Per Second sidebar. The world premiere tells the story of Latin boogaloo, a colorful expression of 1960s New York City Latino soul.

Meanwhile, in the SX Global section, Mexico will feature the North American premiere of “Kings of Nowhere” while the Colombia and Argentina co-production “Monte Adentro” will also have its North American premiere.

And in the festival favorites category, “Lost River” starring Eva Mendes and directed by Ryan Gosling will have its U.S. premiere. Plaza will also appear in “Ned Rifle” by Hal Hartley while Portuguese director Juliano Ribeiro will show his acclaimed documentary “The Salt of Earth."
