Joe Jonas recently opened up about many aspects of his life during his Disney days in an essay titled, "Joe Jonas: My Life as a Jonas Brother" in New York Magazine, which was published over the weekend. The article featured his short-term yet famous relationship with Demi Lovato, and the "Skyscraper" singer responded to her former boyfriend on Twitter.

Jonas candidly shared how both Lovato and Miley Cyrus convinced him to try marijuana for the first time. "I really got to know her [Lovato] and got to see the ins and outs of what she was struggling with, like drug abuse," he said. "I felt I needed to take care of her, but at the same time I was living a lie, because I wasn't happy but felt like I had to stay in it for her, because she needed help. I couldn't express any of that, of course, because I had a brand to protect."

Surprisingly, the "Heart Attack" singer actually took Joe Jonas' revealing statement quite well, and it didn't seem like she had sour feelings nor was holding grudges against Jonas. She took Twitter to respond to her ex-boyfriend.

"@joejonas love you brother. #family/friendsforever," she tweeted.

Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas dated for a couple of months back in 2010. Although Lovato admitted that she was "really mad at him" following their split, she also explained that they now have a great friendship.

"I can fortunately say that him, and his brother Nick, have always been there for me and are literally family, and like brothers... we have a great friendship," she said. "And we may not be as close as we used to be, but that's OK."
