As plans continue to unfold for the sequel of the very popular "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, fans of the E.L. James trilogy of erotic love novels will be happy to learn a new character, Leila Williams, could have potentially been cast.

Williams is introduced in James' second novel "Fifty Shades Darker," which is set to be released as a film in 2017. According to Venture Capital Post, Cara Delevingne has been chosen to play Williams, who in the novel is Christian Grey's previous submissive. Grey, who is played by Irish actor Jamie Dornan, is returning for the sequels despite earlier rumors he would not return.

Delevingne, 22, is known for making the change from modeling to acting in recent years, appearing in various films. Venture Capital Post reports Delevingne has been cast as Williams; however, there have not been any official announcements by those involved in the film.

Earlier this month, however, the Daily Star reported that James wants Delevingne to be cast for Williams' role, thinking new blood will revitalize the franchise.

"Cara is wowing in her performance in 'Pan' with Hugh Jackman and E.L. James loves the idea of her as a name being in the next movie" a source said.

Delevingne has also starred in Michael Winterbottom's film "Face of an Angel" on the life of American student Amanda Knox, suspected of killing her college roommate in Italy. According to the Daily Mail, Winterbottom did not know who Delevigne was when he cast her for the role.

"I didn't really know who Cara was, to be honest. Someone had told me who she was and I met her," he said. "She had just got off an overnight flight from the Caribbean and she was full of energy and she was incredibly spontaneous and funny, and I thought she was perfect for the part."

Aside from the abovementioned roles, she stars in the film remake of John Green's novel "Paper Towns." However, starring in a film based on James' novels is quite different than being in one written by John Green.
