The final "SmackDown" before Sunday's "Extreme Rules" pay-per-view has been taped featuring the return of two members of the Shield teaming up for the main event.

"SmackDown" begins with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, and he delivers a promo stating he does not need Kane or J&J Security to support him this Sunday. Rollins is interrupted by Director of Operations Kane. The two Authority members get into a heated discussion, including Rollins referencing Kane's loss to United States Champion John Cena. Kane suggests a match against Rollins, but he wants the WWE World Heavyweight Champion to take the pin just like Kane did last week on "Raw."

Rollins and Kane have a non-title match. Although Kane had wanted Rollins to lay down and allow the director of operations to have the pinfall victory, Kane says he was only joking with Rollins. Instead, Rollins will have a match against former Shield member Dean Ambrose. Ambrose makes his way to the ring but encountered Luke Harper, his opponent at "Extreme Rules." Roman Reigns makes the save and a tag-team main event is scheduled featuring Ambrose and Reigns against Rollins and Harper.

Also promoted for the show is Rusev against Ryback.

Neville and Dolph Ziggler are in tag-team competition against Bad News Barrett and Sheamus. Neville and Ziggler get the victory but not before Sheamus mocks their sizes.

Another mysterious Bray Wyatt promo video is shown.

The Divas are next with Naomi wrestling against Natalya. Naomi defeated Jim Neidhart's daughter with the Rearview.

It was time for The Prime Time Players to have a promo, and this time their attention was on WWE Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Tyson Kidd.

Rusev and Ryback's match was next but ended in disqualification after the Bulgarian Brute used his chain. After the match, Rusev applied The Accolade with the chain. The purpose of the chain was to promote the Russian Chain Match against Cena at "Extreme Rules."

Rollins is backstage with J&J Security and Luke Harper. The segment ends with Harper warning Rollins to steer out of his way. Ahead of the penultimate match of the night, The New Day delivered a promo. New Day's Kofi Kingston defeated Cesaro. Big E, Xavier Woods and Tyson Kidd were at ringside.

The main event is next. Ambrose and Reigns get the victory against Harper and Rollins. The finale saw Reigns spearing Rollins and pinned the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

"SmackDown" airs Thursday nights on SyFy.
