Fans of the 2006 NBC science fiction TV drama "Heroes" could soon meet some of their favorite characters from the famous series again. News circulated that the cable network decided to release the reboot version of the famous TV show, "Heroes Reborn," starting this fall.

Tim Kring's "Heroes" was the first to start the superhero trend among TV shows, noted Den of Geek. It began in 2006 and was received well by viewers and critics. However, the tide turned in 2010 when the show lost support from the viewers because of how the story turned out.

Many fans of the series mourned the loss of their favorite show and others were disappointed because they felt the show's producers left them hanging with the story's ending.

With the superhero series dominating the tube nowadays, it is not a surprise that NBC decided to bring back the popular show. However, it would not be a continuation of the previous story arc and would involve new cast members.

The official synopsis for the TV show, according to NBC, said, "From original creator Tim Kring, the supernatural phenomenon begins again with a fresh crop of inspiring heroes who take on the ultimate struggle between those with extraordinary abilities and those with nefarious motives to hunt and harness their powers."

Some of the original characters, such as Hiro Nakamura played by Masi Oka and Horn-Rimmed Guy portrayed by Jack Coleman, will return to the show. They will join newcomers Robbie Kay, Zachary Levi, Henry Zebrowski, Judith Shekoni, Toru Uchikado, Danika Yarosh, Ryan Guzman, Gatlin Green and Eve Harlow.

While not too many details about the show were revealed, it was confirmed that the series will come out this fall. A new episode will every Thursday nights at 8 p.m., IGN reported

NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke acknowledged the popularity of the original TV show. She said, "The enormous impact 'Heroes' had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening."

In a statement, Salke added, "Shows with that kind of resonance don't come around often and we thought it was time for another installment."

The network chief expressed their excitement to have another go at the series with the original creator in tow.

"We're thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept," Salke said.
