Ariana Grande is set to headline New York City's 29th Annual Dance on the Pier in support of the LGBTcommunity this summer.

Following in the footsteps of divas like the late Whitney Houston, Cher, Janet Jackson and Jennifer Lopez, the "One Last Time" singer will take the stage at Manhattan's Pier 26 on June 28.

"We think Ariana will be the perfect fit for this event," NYC Heritage of Pride managing director Chris Rederick told Next Magazine in an email statement.

Dance director Jose Ramos also said he was "delighted" by Grande's participation in "a highly anticipated part of Pride, thanks in part to amazing DJs and incredible performers."

"This year will be no different," he added.

Meanwhile, some criticized the "Problem" hitmaker for performing at the upcoming Pride event.

On Towleroad.com, which is described as "a site with homosexual tendencies," user JakeinLove commented: "Really? What are we all 12 now?"

"I am only 19 and I find this absolutely disgusting. Ariana Grande? Please? Couldn't they find someone WHO ACTUALLY CARES about gay rights than a clown singer who ONLY CARES ABOUT money?" another user Alexander The Bad wrote.

However, Grande has been an outspoken LGBT rights advocate for quite a while. For instance, she defended her gay half-brother, "Big Brother" house member Frankie Grande, after one Instagram commenter called him "that homo" last year.

The "Love Me Harder" crooner's support for her sibling also made her question Catholic faith and turn to Kabbalah instead.

"When my brother was told that God didn't love him I was like, 'OK, that's not cool,'" she told The Telegraph. "They were building a Kabbalah center in Florida so we both checked it out and really had a connection with it."

Grande will be joined by DJs Ralphi Rosario, The Cube Guys and Wayne G at Dance of the Pier. Tickets are available for purchase here.
