After four years since the release of the wildly successful Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, fans are eager to know when the next title for the series will be released.

As the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 approaches, where Bethesda is scheduled to hold its first ever press conference, most bets are on updates for Fallout 4 and Elder Scrolls 6.

The company has already confirmed that one of the titles it will be showcasing will be a Role-Playing Game (RPG), but didn't elaborate, Geek Snack reported.

Looking back on the previous franchise titles, the site analyzed that there are a number of location possibilities for the game it is likely that the setting for the next game will be on the southernmost region of Tamriel, specifically four provinces, which have yet to be explored.

Currently, there are nine provinces in Tamriel. Areas that have been explored in the past include Skyrim, Cyrodiil, Morrowind, High Rock, Hammerfell, although they've been accessed in varying degrees.

While it is possible that Bethesda will choose any of these provinces as the setting of Elder Scrolls 6, it was reported that there's a higher chance that gamers will be introduced to unchartered territory.

The remaining four provinces include Summerset Isles, Valenwood, Elsweyr and Black Marsh.

In line with other speculation that the next-gen game title will be called "Argonia" and take place in Black Marsh, this may be the front-runner and a viable option. However, site did note that Elsweyr may be a better option because it has a more varied terrain and environment that isn't limited to swamps and jungles, rather it also has forests and deserts to add more gameplay possibilities.

"Elder Scrolls 6" Release Date

Estimates regarding the release of the new title is pegged to be sometime between the end of this year to early 2016. In an earlier report, it was shared that the game is set to be released in March 2016.

Bethesda will be hosting its first ever E3 press conference on June 14, 2015.
