Daniel "The Real Deal" Geale is focused on pulling off an upset against current WBC Middleweight Champion Miguel Cotto.

The former IBF Middleweight champion is conditioning his mind and his body to emerge as the winner in the June 6 bout at the Barclays center in Brooklyn, New York, reported The Daily Telegraph.

"The game plan is to go in and fight my fight. It's not to get sucked in. It's not to get caught up in what he [Cotto] is doing. It's to do what I do best," said Geale.

Geale planned for his gameplay thoroughly based on how he observed the strengths and weaknesses of Cotto, a Puerto Rican fierce fighter. Geale added, "Cotto has trouble in stages against guys that move and use their reach. He knows that's what I'm going to be doing and he's going to be trying to counter that with aggression and coming forward."

He reiterated that one of his goals is to focus on what he can do and not to be a victim of the player's strategy. "I'm going to use my abilities and not get caught up in his game plan."

Geale knows the importance of his upcoming match. Defeating Cotto will be a boost to his career, and edging a seasoned fighter to get the WBC Middleweight Championship belt will be a great career feat. "This is going to be a huge fight for me. Fighting a guy like Miguel who's fought some of the greatest fighters is going to be a great test," declared Geale.

Geale expressed confidence that he will prove his doubters wrong on Saturday night.

"I want this one badly. It's something that we have wanted for a while and I'm extremely excited," he added. "I've got guys like Gary Shaw and my team at the Grange and they're working very hard behind the scenes. I'm just going to worry about my job and they do their job greatly."

Cotto ready for Geale

Meanwhile, Cotto told Boxing Insider that he is ready to face Geale as well.

"I feel good and in the best shape possible. I just feel ready. I know Geale is a tough opponent and he is going to bring his best on June 6, but I trust in the work we have done here in Los Angeles and I'm going to bring my best too," Cotto said.

Like Geale, Cotto is also confident that he camp, led by Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, has prepared the perfect fight plan to win against his challenger.

"Freddie comes here every day with the best attitude and he knows how to get the best out of me," said Cotto.
